Dr. Sharon Moore Askins is a lifetime resident of Lake City and has been married to Harry Askins for 46 years. They are the parents of two sons, Elliott and William, and proud playmates to three granddaughters, Olivia, Ella, and Adeline. Dr. Askins served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent of instruction for Florence School District Three for 28 years. At the State level, Dr. Askins worked as a principal leader for the SC Department of Education for two years in Lee County and Orangeburg Consolidated School District Five. She then taught at her alma mater, Francis Marion University, from 2004-2011, where she coordinated the largest Teacher Cadet program in the state. After retiring as an Associate Professor of Education, Dr. Askins was then fortunate to work for two years on the inaugural ArtFields team.

Her board memberships and cheerleading efforts include the Florence County Disabilities Foundation, Ronald E. McNair Foundation, and the Florence County Library.
