Jodi serves as an Assistant Professor of Education at Francis Marion University. Additionally, she collaborates with Bridge Creek Elementary in Richland Two as a PDS (professional development school) Liaison with the University of South Carolina. As a PDS, she develops and facilitates STEM professional development.

Previously, Jodi taught in every grade level K-12 in a combination of general and special education settings. Additionally, she served as an administrator for five years at the middle and elementary levels. While teaching, Jodi was recognized as the National Igniting Creative Energy Teacher by Johnson Controls and was a state semi-finalist in the Samsung Solve for Tomorrow Initiative, both STEM based curriculum projects.

While with S2TEM Centers SC Mrs. Zeis focused on efficacy in high poverty schools and districts, along with Community Relevant Pedagogy to focus on self-efficacy among students and educators in their own communities in the cultures they are most familiar with. Additionally, Mrs. Zeis continues to focus on infusing SGTEM concepts effectively with students who struggle and who are typically underrepresented in STEM fields. In the last three years, Mrs. Zeis has presented at seven national and four state level conferences, often presenting on similar topics, along with STEM and Literacy. Mrs. Zeis holds an Ed.S. from the University of Virginia in Administration and Supervision, a M.S. in Education with a focus on special education, and B.S. from Millersville University in Education. Currently Jodi is working on her Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning at the University of South Carolina. She is focused on STEM education and is researching how teacher leaders are utilized in high poverty areas to most effectively sustain and improve professional development and serve as effective change agents. Integrated STEM curriculum, along with community relevant learning is a focus and passion of Jodi’s.
