Carolina Academy Family members:
Governor McMaster issued the following directive to South Carolina schools:
“At this time, students, parents, and families should plan for South Carolina’s schools to remain closed through the month of April. Our dedicated teachers and school administrators have done a tremendous job in making it possible for our students to learn at home. We understand that the prospect of schools remaining closed for an extended period of time places stress and strain on parents and children. Rest assured, if there is any way to safely open our schools earlier, we will do that but schools must remain closed to protect the health and safety of South Carolinian’s.”
Parents, SCISA member schools will adhere to the directive that the Governor gave yesterday. The Carolina Academy along with SCISA, SCDHEC, the Governors office, and other applicable state and federal agencies will continue to monitor this situation. The important thing here is to remember that we as a school family have to work together to protect the safety of our children, teachers, staff, administrators and their extended families. At this time, no medical expert or healthcare official will recommend the opening of schools due to the possible exposure and spread of the disease. We will continue to work on a home school / virtual school basis to keep on tract to finish the 2019-2020 school year at this time.
As a school our financial and educational obligations must continue for us to move forward to the coming year. Unfortunately, we are going to have to make the best out of a bad situation. In a situation like this is when families pull together and are at their strongest. Always keep in mind, there is no greater investment that our children.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18. So fix our eyes not on what is seen but what is unseen since what is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal. God is in charge of all things!
- Keep your Egg Drop packets and continue to sell your eggs. We have hopes to be back in May and maybe we can work on a time to make up all our special even (May Day, Egg Drop, Dancin with the Stars, Senior events, etc.). Only time will tell, understand that priortiy comes first. Keep Praying!!
The work picked up yesterday or today (3/24 – 3/25 “Second Round”) will carry your child through April 20-21. We will monitor the situation daily and staff will start putting another packet (“Third Round”) together for the end of April.
