March 16, 2020
In accordance with the school closure directive issued by Gov. Henry McMaster, the Carolina Academy will be closing as of today for the next two weeks. The school met today in order to put together a two-week package of work and to allow students to pick up their Chromebooks for distant education.
Parents, we have worked diligently to ensure that we meet the needs and best interest of our children and faculty during this difficult time. In all this, the most important thing is the safety of our children, families, and community. It takes everyone working together for our school to continue moving forward. I conferenced with SCISA officials this morning and they have approved the work being sent home by the school today will count toward the days that are being missed, provided the students complete the work. As for now we will keep our spring break and regular school calendar intact to finish out this school year.
Please understand, we do not know what the coming weeks hold but it is important to remember the reason we are out of school. I emphasize to everyone; this is a time for isolation not socializing and taking trips around the countryside.
Continue to do the following:
· Wash hand frequently for at least 20 seconds.
· Maintain an arm length social distance.
· Sneeze and cough into your elbow instead of your hand.
· If you are sick, stay home.
· Stay home and away from people who are at risk.
Please MAIL in your package to complete your enrollment by the due date – Monday, March 23, 2020. Ms. Linda Moore-Morris will be checking the mail each day. Please do not send in cash. All tuitions must be current through March in order to enroll for the 20-21 year. If you have any questions, please call or text Ms. Linda at 843-598-3224.
As I close this letter, the Carolina Academy Board and SCISA office will continue to monitor this unprecedented event. Parents, please continue to monitor emails and the school website to stay updated on changes that may take place. We would like to thank the entire faculty and staff of TCA for their hard work today and constant dedication to our school and our students.
Please stay home and stay safe!
